Farmers for Forests — Donation Policy
Farmers for Forests (“we,” “our,” “us”) is grateful for the support of our donors. This Donation Policy explains how we receive, process, use, and manage donations made to Farmers for Forests through our website or other channels.
1. Our Legal Entities
Donations to Farmers for Forests are received by one of the following registered entities depending on your country of residence:

Farmers for Forests Inc

A registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation. Donations from US-based donors are tax-exempt to the extent permitted by US law.
2. Accepting Donations
We accept one-time and recurring donations. Donations may be made via:
- Credit/debit card
- Bank transfer / NEFT / RTGS (India)
- UPI (India)
- Other payment methods as listed on our website at the time of donation
3. Tax Receipts & Exemptions
India donors: Donations to EEPA may be eligible for tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. A receipt will be issued upon request. Please provide your PAN card details at the time of donation to receive a valid receipt.
US donors: Farmers for Forests Inc is a 501(c)(3) organisation (EIN available upon request). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by US law.
For other countries: We are unable to confirm tax deductibility in jurisdictions outside India and the US. Please consult your local tax advisor.
4. Use of Donations
All donations are used to fund the mission and programs of Farmers for Forests, which include:
- Agroforestry and farmer livelihood support
- Forest protection and restoration
- Urban biodiversity initiatives
- Human-wildlife conflict prevention
- Climate change education
- Technology development
Unless you designate your donation to a specific program, we will allocate it where it is most needed. We reserve the right to redirect designated funds if a program is fully funded or discontinued, and will notify you in such cases.
5. Refund Policy
Donations to Farmers for Forests are generally non-refundable. However, if a donation was made in error (e.g., duplicate payment or incorrect amount), please contact us within 14 days of the transaction at hello@farmersforforests.org with your transaction details. We will review each request on a case-by-case basis and, where appropriate, process a refund within 7–10 business days.
Refunds will be credited to the original payment method used.
6. Recurring Donations
If you set up a recurring donation, you authorise us (or our payment processor) to charge your chosen payment method at the agreed frequency. You may cancel a recurring donation at any time by contacting us at hello@farmersforforests.org at least 5 business days before the next scheduled charge.
7. Donor Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Information collected during the donation process (including name, email, address, and payment details) is used solely to process your donation, issue receipts, and communicate with you about your contribution and our work. We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as required by law or as described in our Privacy Policy (available at www.farmersforforests.org).
8. Foreign Contributions (India)
Farmers for Forests (via EEPA) is currently only accepting domestic donations.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Donation Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at www.farmersforforests.org. We encourage you to review it periodically.
