Bringing Nature Back to the Cities

Across India, our cities are turning into dust bowls. Native trees have vanished from sidewalks, bird calls grow fewer, and pollinators are struggling to survive. The concrete keeps spreading - but biodiversity has all but disappeared.

At Farmers for Forests, we believe that cities can become sanctuaries. Our Urban Biodiversity Hubs are a new initiative to reimagine urban spaces as living, breathing ecosystems - designed for birds, bees, soil, water, and the humans who live around them.

Restoration activities in our Pune Biodiversity Hub

These hubs are more than green patches. They are immersive and educational landscapes that showcase native flora and pollinator-friendly design, soil regeneration and water harvesting techniques, composting and food forests, and community spaces and ecological storytelling

We're starting in Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai, with many more cities to follow over the next few years.
